PHILOSOPHY OF IDEB

On Establishment of IDEB in the year 1970, after a series of discussions and debate the Institute convinced that achievement of the interest and status of its members depend on the national development as a whole. IDEB conceived that if the literacy of the country increases, the economy be healthy and wealthy, the various problems of members of the Institute would be solved automatically. With these objectives in view of the Institute accelerated and promoted its activities and began to identify the real cause of failure for the development of the country. It was found that since independence, Bangladesh has received approximately 30 billion US dollars as loan, grant, donation & relief. But it is regretted to admit that the lion share of such grants etc. has gone astray due to tremendous corruption in every sector, owing to wrong planning of the planners and absence of patriotism in the concerned persons of the society. As a result, Bangladesh has become one of the poorest country in the world, when number of billionaires increased rapidly, on the other hand, millions of young people are becoming unemployed in the country every year.
To resist such non-uniformity in the social structure and to curb on misuse of public money, IDEB has promoted and accelerated its activities 75% to 80% for the nation and the people. 14 points suggestions and 6 points demands were placed to the GoB and to the people. Seven research papers were submitted to the GoB related to the self reliance of the country. Presently, the Institute has been conducting its activities to organize and motivate the people in favour of its suggestions, demands and research papers so that GoB should come forward for the implementations thereof.
.   The rest 20-25% activities of the Institute render for the interest of its members, that is, for the justifiable common problems and interest of the Diploma Engineers.
